What are Restorative Yin Yoga Classes Like?
Settle into the part of you that already knows how to soften, receive, and simply be. Each class begins with intentional stillness and gentle breathwork, creating space for your body and mind to arrive together. This quiet opening sets the tone for deep release and effortless presence.
The practice unfolds through carefully chosen elements that invite deep rest and inner spaciousness:
Gentle Breath Awareness to anchor the mind and calm the nervous system
Long-Held, Supported Postures that open fascia and hydrate connective tissues
Soothing Music or Soundscapes to nurture a meditative state
Mindfulness Cues woven seamlessly into each posture
This intentional approach creates a space where beginners feel completely at ease and seasoned practitioners can explore profound layers of stillness—nourishing the body, mind, and spirit in every breath.

FAQs about Restorative Yin Yoga
-
Absolutely. This class is designed for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced yogis. Every posture is fully supported with props, and you’re encouraged to move at your own pace, making it a safe and accessible practice for everyone.
-
The “work” in Restorative Yin Yoga is internal. While it’s not physically strenuous, the extended stillness helps release deep-seated tension and restore balance—both of which can enhance performance in more active practices.
-
Unlike dynamic styles like Vinyasa or Ashtanga, Restorative Yin Yoga is slow, quiet, and meditative. Poses are held for several minutes with the support of props, allowing connective tissues to gently open and the nervous system to shift into deep relaxation.
-
Jivamukti Yoga integrates physical practice with philosophy, music, meditation, and chanting, creating a comprehensive spiritual practice. The emphasis on "alignment through listening" develops awareness that extends beyond physical postures to include attunement to internal and external rhythms.
-
Regular practice can improve flexibility, joint health, and circulation, while reducing stress and anxiety. Many students find it helps them sleep better, recover from injury or burnout, and reconnect with a sense of inner calm.
-
You can cancel up to 2 hours before class begins. If you cancel after this time, class credits do not transfer or refund. Please plan accordingly to respect both your practice and the instructor's time.
