TYPES OF CLASSES:

Jivamukti Yoga: A vigorous style of yoga that takes its basic moves from traditional Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. It flows by connecting breath to movement through a series of postures that ground, open, expand, and animate the practitioner. This Vinyasa class begins with the sound of one’s voice in chanting, by which the practitioner is allowed to come into their innate capacity to listen and attune to shifting rhythms within them and around them. Alignment through listening is deepened through key elements of yoga philosophy, music, thoughtful sequencing, hands on assists, and meditation. Some of our classes also include shaking, dancing, and chanting with the harmonium. Types of Jivamukti Yoga classes: Spiritual Warrior 60min, Jivamukti Open 75min or 90min, Restore & Renew 60min.

Asana Groove: Created by our founder, Fernanda, the Asana Groove style is a blend of a Jivamukti Yoga class with Shaking and Active Meditation. Our method is fun, invigorating, deep, and nourishing for the body, mind, and spirit. The active meditation (dancing) and shaking part of the Asana Groove class, together with the kriyas and breathing practices, make it a highly effective method of purifying the body & soul.

Stretch Tone & Flow: Our signature Asana Groove 75min Class is designed for busy people who want to practice and also get a workout in. This class not only focuses on a Jivamukti Yoga based asana practice, but also on conditioning for toning specific parts of the body. The class is fast paced and invigorating and is certainly a “get-in-shape” class for your body and mind. It includes meditation, pranayama and shavasana.

Rocket Yoga: It's called Rocket Yoga because "it gets you there faster". It's an advanced yoga practice that guides your progress through challenging sequences allowing you to explore different variations within your asana practice. The class is dynamic but also pauses to build and understand the most challenging postures and play with their possible variations and transitions. It focuses a lot on the fundamentals of the movement and the basics of the practice.

Vinyasa Yoga: Vinyasa is a moving meditation integrating five components; intention, gaze, breath, movement, and mūla bandha — when practiced together, the magic is forced to rise! Coordinating all five components in practice, we have the potential to experience yoga. The class is guided and has varying degrees of difficulty. This yoga style allows practitioners to flow and evolve alongside the rhythm of their breath making each movement into a dance as each inhale and exhale brings forth a unique movement. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Inhalation is usually connected to upward, open movements, while exhalation is often tied to downward movements or twists.

Chakra Vinyasa: Vinyasa links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Chakra Vinyasa goes beyond postures, and gives us a safe space to explore our inner world and what it needs to express. Our body already speaks to us, we just need to learn to listen. Through the wisdom of the chakras, the Chakra Vinyasa class invites you to look within. The chakras are energy centers of our body, directly related to our emotions, experiences and who we are. This class also includes writing, pranayama and kriyas.

Restore & Renew (Jivamukti & Yin Yoga) : This style of yoga is based on the theory of  TAO inviting us to be calm and slow in order to activate our physical and mental YIN (or feminine) side. It’s designed to rest your mind and your body by embodying a state of balance and harmony. The class involves gentle movements, breathing techniques, meditation, a guided relaxation, Sanskrit chanting, and asana postures that are held 3 to 5 minutes as a way to enjoy gentle stretching. We offer up to a meditative state as we delve deep into the connective tissue of the body and practice inner listening and stillness. Classes are accompanied by soft music and conscious breathing. You will feel physically and mentally restored after taking this class and it’s a wonderful addition to all Vinyasa-based Jivamukti Yoga Classes. The fascia will be gently but effectively stretched, your breath elongated, and your mind calmed.

Prenatal Yoga: Vinyasa Yoga class for pregnant women in which breath is linked to movement. This class only includes asanas that are specifically chosen for this remarkable moment that students are in. The class is adapted to the practice and pace of each student as we move slowly offering options to adjust to the needs of everyone. It is a guided class with music, assists and meditation.

Yin Yoga: This style of yoga is based on the theory of  TAO inviting us to be calm and slow in order to activate our physical and mental YIN (or feminine) side. The Taoists dedicated their lives to syncing up with the natural rhythms of nature. This class is about embodying a state of balance and harmony. We keep the muscles cool through static postures which we hold for 3 to 5 minutes as a way to enjoy gentle stretching. We offer up to a meditative state as we delve deep into the connective tissue of the body and practice inner listening and stillness. Classes are accompanied by soft music and conscious breathing.

Kundalini Yoga: It balances us energetically, mentally, emotionally, and physically as it levels and re-programs our body through purification exercises (kriyas), chants with instruments, breathing exercises (pranayama), dynamic and repetitive movements, and mantras from the Kundalini lineage. Through these movements, we activate, cleanse, and vitalize the energy centers of the body (chakras), opening spaces for new possibilities.

Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is a style of yoga developed by the yoga masters Swami Satyananda Saraswati and Swami Sivananda. Translated from Sanskrit as "psychic sleep yoga," it constitutes a traditional practice of meditation and ancestral relaxation originating in India. The aim of this type of yoga is to achieve deep relaxation while remaining conscious.

Awakening Yoga: Awakening yoga works through a traditional foundation in Hatha-vinyasa combined with a more functional practice tailored to modern life. We seek new movement patterns by working on our strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility. Connect with your body and its freedom to clear your mind, and enjoy the present moment by immersing yourself in the practice.

Hatha Raja Yoga: During this practice, awareness is cultivated in breath and the flow of vital energy to reach deeper states of concentration. Spiritual practice merges with the physical with the intention of guiding the practitioner towards the union of body, mind, and spirit. Asanas are structured in harmonious sequences and experienced as a gateway opening to the infinite possibilities of the body and the depths of the mind, working on grounding, opening, balance, and strength to consciously build a cleaner, healthier, and more receptive vehicle (body and mind).
